Research Affairs Directorate Conducted a proposal review workshop

Our University’s Research Affairs Directorate organized proposal review workshop. This university wide workshop was organized and all proposals were presented in an open defense and reviewed in a coherent manner. In this one-day workshop, 20 proposals were reviewed. Among these, 3 proposals were rom College of Natural and Computational Science, 3 from College of Business and Economics and 14 from College of Medicine and Health Science.

Dr. Getachew Liben, Research Affairs Directorate Director welcomed the participants to the proposal review Besides, he remarked that on the basis of DDU’s research thematic areas, researchers were initiated to develop project ideas and proposals and then got their proposals review at their respective departments and colleges. Dr. Girma Moges, Vice President for Research and Community Engagement on his welcoming speech reminded that the participants that every academic staff should be engaged in conducting researches and enhance a research culture in the University.

Dr. Yared Mammo, President of the University on his part presented a welcoming speech. In the meantime, he disclosed the significance of the workshop, and he reminded the three core activities which are stated in the mission of the University. Realizing the significant contribution of scientific research for socio-economic development, Dr. Yared indicated that our university gives special attention to scientific researches in general and applied researches in particular. Finally, he appreciated the researchers who presented their proposals, and he hoped the researchers would generate innovative and problem solving project ideas. This gears to publish a well done research on a reputable journal.
