Research and Technology Transfer Office of DDIT has successfully conducted two days workshop on review of annual research proposals on February 12 & 13, 2016.
In the event, DDU’s college Deans, department heads, academic staffs, Haramaya Institute of Technology, Meles Zenawi Memorial TVET College and Ethio-Italy Poly Technique, and reviewers from several manufacturing industries, have been attended.
Dr. Desalegn, RTT Director for Dire Dawa Institute of Technology, has stated that the annual proposal review workshop was aimed at evaluating and reviewing the research-project proposals of the presenters as it gives constructive comments of which would capacitate and give a good opportunity for researchers.
Even though 50 research proposals were submitted for evaluation at department and RTT level for the current academic year, only 38 of them have been filtered out and selected for this workshop.
Most of submitted proposals are applied researches and their main focus is on technology adoption that is capable of introducing new inventions (technological methods, products, etc) and alleviating societal problems.
